A close friend of Henry V, in 1413 Oldcastle was convicted of heresy but was able to evade execution for 4 years.

In 1828 O'Connell was elected MP for #CountyClare, but as a Catholic he refused to take the Oath of Supremacy.
However, his election triggered Catholic emancipation in 1829 and O'Connell was re-elected that year.

Edward Legge, a Naval Officer serving in the West Indies, was elected on 15 Dec. News later arrived that Legge had in fact passed away 87 days prior, on 19 Sept. #LocalHistory @PortsCityMuseum
