Part 1: Jack Canty

Jack was born in Portsmouth in 1910 with only one leg and no hands, but still managed to paint. He earned his living as a commercial artist and worked for Portsmouth Museum making posters and providing artwork for publicity.

Here’s another of my gothic horror inspired pieces for my Halloween art share out. Again, as with previous pieces, the skull photography comes from visit to the Booth Museum. The house is a mixture of old houses around Westbourne/Portsmouth & the rest is all collage & brushwork.
