When it comes to tragic characters people often think of those who suffer incredible hardship despite being good people.
But to me, it's far more tragic when a character can't even begin to understand the problems with their toxic mindset because of their circumstances.
So I just realized a very interesting minor parallel between Chrollo and Kurapika...
"The one who is cursed... is the one making the wishes."
An attempt at dispelling the misunderstandings surrounding Alluka and Nanika, and explaining how they embody Hunter x Hunter's message about empathy to prove that, far from being a flaw, they were a brilliant addition.
Gradual and subtle narrative twists are my favorite type, rather than sudden and direct ones.
The kind where you just look back on the earlier parts of the story and realize that your perspective on everything has completely shifted, but not knowing at what exact point it did.
Shamelessly stealing this idea from Fab 7 months later. https://t.co/0RcVswtoSW
