Immortal mage w/plans that can span centuries, involve the rise & fall of nations, in ways the people never even know, & can come in enough flavors they can easily be reinvented. Fav use: A mage guild elder who chose Lichdom to preserve his dying culture.

We're watching the Dora the Explorer movie. The show was a big part of the kiddo's early childhood. There is a scene that switches from live animation to the animated art style and pulls in the unused characters from the show. This gag makes me laugh every time.
