Dryosaurus

A 4 meter long iguanodont named after the forest, which it probably lived in, its long legs likely made it quick and its tail worked as a counterbalance

ALT: discovered during the bone wars, all its species have been either synonymized or are dubious

yeah i should have made it longer, or at least the head and limbs smaller, might have made it look more proportionate
you should have seen the one from 3 years ago tho, its basically a shark lel (couldnt make a new figure cuz rona)

A 15 meter long whale, originally confused with a marine reptile, it was likely the apex predator of its environment

ALT: In 1906 a basilosaurus hipbone was thought to instead be the shoulder of a gastornis like bird, this was proven wrong a few years later

Arandaspis

A small jawless fish at 15 cm in lenght and one of the oldest known vertebrates, its round body was covered in hard plates that worked as armor

ALT: Its named after an Australian aboriginal tribe, the Arrernte people, who are some times also known as the Aranda

@yoofilos i also used to do out of focus backgrounds as it still gave ya an idea of whats going on but you dont actually need to detail, still a few simple shapes can be enough to give the idea of a canyon or a desert

the boies for the day for #paleostream, starting to get used to the pen

The most basal thyreophoran known, the family that let to ankylosaurs and nodosaurs, its small at 1.2 meters long and had over 300 osteoderms

ALT: Its tail is very long, likely to counterbalance the weight of the osteoderms as it likely was a bipedal animal
