i like how homestuck keeps coming up with new words that begin with the letter A for the fight bits, but i think they may be pushing it with some of these...

.....but i think jade is just pointing her gun and saying gun noises, which doesn't strike me as an effective battle tactic

after getting his ass kicked by the ogres in round 1, john was able to rally and defeat them with the help of nannasprite and rose

this page rules. watching john beat the ogres and get all this FUCKIN GRIST was truly a joy to see

dave and his bro are FIGHTING!!!!! and at some point i was like "i have no idea *why* they're fighting", and by this point i was starting to get confused and tired by homestuck's meandering bullshit

but i realized i don't need an explanation beyond "dave's bro is an asshole"

i haven't listened to it yet, but it's popped up in my youtube recs a few times

homestuck's fights are rly goddamn cool

it rules how characters will arm themselves with items they find lying around, and then use the unique properties of those items to fight, like the bounciness of john's pogo hammer or this ogre using the tire swing as a grappling hook

on an earlier page we saw a glimpse of a presumed future, where dave meets a sprite made from the bird he accidentally stabbed with a sword

between this and nannasprite, it makes me wonder if one of the sprite prototyping phases *requires* a dead soul of some kind 🤔

so as rose descends into some ominous green hallway, she takes the body of her dead cat with her in her inventory
