I've been told by some friends that Donaji is my alter ego, but I think she rather is my anthitesis. Unlike me, she's brave, hot headed, impulsive, blunt and always ready to take action. Probably the only thing we have in common is our unwillingness to seek help from others.

I would like to know where it came from as well, since I ended up using it for one of my characters unknowingly hahaha
Perhaps it is a regional quauhololli variation (hence the ball), though I interpreted it as feathers.

It was about time for me to post some antagonists for #CodexBlack as well.
Their names are zapotec, though they may be rather just words and never used as proper names by actual zapotecs.

I'm a grinch, so you won't see my characters saying "Merry Christmas", but still hope you all have a good day/evening. #Donaji approves the sacrifice of turkeys though, as any good zapotec would do.

And this is the original gif I did of #Itzpapalotl, originally part of a paused animation project that I call #Donaji & the deers.

Doodled it at a night class with the lights turned off, hence the roughness...

A sad #Donaji because of the theft and plagiarism of traditional motives and designs from the originary groups of #Oaxaca, by the fashion industry.

My grandma is publishing a book of chronicles on this topic and requested this illustration from me for the cover. Glad I did it.
