Watched 師父 (The Final Master) last night. Story was convoluted and lost me, but the martial arts choreography and chemistry between the master and his wife were great!
@LiteratureNLoFi If you're interested in Jie's origin story, and are ok with courtesan culture, then Thorn of the Night Blossoms features mystery, plotting, and betrayal. Novella lenght, it takes place in an elite red light district, about 8 years before Songs of Insurrection.
@LiteratureNLoFi Chronologically, Masters of Deception takes place after Songs of Insurrection, but with a different cast of characters (plus Jie). There's a lot more of magic, and it's basically about four rogues with their own agenda that have to come together to save the world.
My Cyberpunk/Xianxia mashup is 99c through today.

My article on Shadow and Bones on @FantasyFaction
"the [TV] characters feel so textured, their interactions so alive. Yet as incredible as these stories are, they are a cheap imitation of Six of Crows.
It might be the best fantasy book I’ve ever read."

This was the photoshoot... it's been reblogged and reposted so many time, I can't find the photographer to credit.
@DiannaLGunn Only the lost magic of dragon songs can save the world. Only a naive girl with the perfect voice can rediscover it.
