Malfunctions

Olla from the ancient Hopi pueblo of Sikyatki (Yellow House) in Navajo Co., Arizona (Fewkes 1899, Plate 155b). The site dates from the AD 1400s to ca. AD 1600.

a-c) Manzano & d) Sandia points from Manzano Cave in New Mexico (Hibben 1941, Plate 14.1). The Manzano type is not very prevalent in the literature, possibly due to the suspicious claims by Hibben about Sandia Cave & other archaeological finds.

Talamancan (Costa Rica & Panama) #ceramic bird whistle (Joyce 1916, Plate 15.1).

Sandia Type I & 2 from Sandia Cave in NM (Hibben 1941, Plate 10.2). Supposedly dating to 14000-10000 BP, there have been many questions concerning the site & whether it was salted to provide "proof" of a link between Clovis & Solutrean.

Sandia points are real, but their date?
