Bellamy has had the most fascinating character progression in all of One Piece to me. A whole novel can be dedicated to his path from Jaya to today and I'd read it in a heartbeat. Top 3 underrated characters
Once you consider this, EVERYTHING will become clearer. Oden is a TWO sword style user. Ame no habakiri (heaven) and Enma (hell). Luffy was compared by Hyo to a Buddhist deity. Luffy represents Ame no habakiri while Zoro is portrayed with Demon attributes and represents Enma
It's perfectly showcased when Luffy was compared to Oden by Kaido while he simultaneously sensed Oden in Zoro in the same fight. Notice also oda's placement of BOTH Zoro/Luffy on kaido even on covers. Used to think Luffy'll get a final hit but I think it HAS to be a dual finisher
For those wondering, it's not Luffy or Zoro that are the modern parallel of Oden, it's actually BOTH at the same time. Oden's traits were split evenly to them (Conquerer's, Enma, free-spirit, bloodline, having a 'crew' YET simultaneously a right hand man to WB) etc.
Garp is such an underrated character man if Oda gave him like 20 more panels he'd be in everyones top 5 it's impossible not to love this guy
The amount of times Luffy pummeled kaido just for Kaido to walk it off LMAO
In hindsight, one of the best decisions Oda made was to not include romance between main cast. I craved it as a kid, but it was smarter not to. Most romance/love sideplots in shonen end up kinda lame onscreen and often hurt the story and likeability of the characters
Ranking One Piece flashbacks is like picking between your parents and siblings man it's possible you just can't do it
