New Krypton Saga read through continues.
Parasite doesn't play a massive part in Superman 684, and his inclusion is clearly only to satisfy the Faces Of Evil gimmick, bit god does James Robinson have such a brilliant handle writing him.
Excellent Alex Ross cover too.
Been continuing a read through if the New Krypton saga on the way to work today.
Here's some highlights:
1. I quite like the Superwoman design. The golden circles might be a bit unnecessary, but otherwise a cool and unique 'Super' design.
Art by Jamal Igle.
Bryan Hitch art revealed yesterday from Avengers Assemble Alpha and Venom issue 11.
Insane to me that he's producing this level of work on a monthly basis without filler artists, whilst doing other side projects, and not getting more love from the community
Batman Incorporated by @edbrisson & @johntimmsart is another must buy (especially after the annual), and I'm always going to buy a GCPD book so they've got me there too
Absolutely *stunning* Miracleman connecting variant covers by @peachmomoko60
She really can do no wrong
I really don't see the point in a Marvel Comics adaptation of the first season of The Mandalorian years after it aired, HOWEVER these covers by Phil Noto and Peach Momoko are stunning
Stunning variant for the Superman New Krypton special.
Whatever happened to Renato Guedes?
Just read Silver Surfer/Warlock: Ressurection, in which the title characters begrudgingly team up to ressurect the Surfer's lover.
Artistically it's 90s posturing & rendering but with Jim Starlin's 70s/80s esoteric weirdness, and it works!
This Surfer/Mephisto sequence is great
What I like about The Black over the other Spider-Man movie adaptations as its actually a side story/'deleted scene' told entirely from Eddie's perspective.
You see him bond with the Symbiote, get a sense of his horror, and see key moments like him finding out Spidey's memories
On a serious note, Captain America: The End is fun one shot from Erik Larsen.
It's the right amount of Kirbyness in a post-apocalyptic future ravaged by a Red Skull virus.
Larsen has clearly still got the drawing jobs, I just wish he was paired with a better colourist
