Not much to say about Amazing Spider-Man 404.

Bagley art is always nice, under a great cover, but even he can't make a Spidercide/Scrier counter exciting.

Cliffhanger of an abundance of Peter clones. Ugh.

Now that we're about a month away from another Timeless one shot, let's revisit last years Timless and see how much of this stuff is outstanding or has never come to be.

The big one of course is Ben Reilly as Spider-Man in Hollywood. Not even close

Man, reading Stargirl: The Lost Children and I think it's abundantly clear that we don't give @ToddNauck enough credit.

Always been a fan of his style. His work has always screamed 'comics' to me, and the colouring from Matt Herms really makes him sing here

Really not too much to say about The Jackal Files.

Essentially a handbook about all the key players in Spidey's World and the Clone craziness, booked ended with a few comic pages showing Jackal downloading these into Spidercide's mind.

Couple of things that really glared at me this issue:

1. 'I've been to other worlds, and you have Clone memories of them' - Ben was cloned from Peter BEFORE any of those alien worlds? Unless you count that Lee/Ditko Annual with Strange

2. What the utter fuck is MJ wearing?

Chapter 2 in Spider-Man Summer Special sees Joe St Pierre on art, who is also a mixed bag.

Some of his art (I.e the cover and the Venom montage page) are fun in a quasi-McFarlane style, but other times he's clearly emulating the style without understanding the form

Spider-Man 60 is where Kaine reveals his identity as the first Parker Clone, which really shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. Also raises some continuity questions.

I'd say that up to this point at least, this is the best Lyle's art on Spidey has looked.
