One thing I really appreciate about the story lately is it’s revealing the truth about the dragon balls more and more as time goes on. The Dragons of Dragonball are so cool because you may not be intimidated when you are having your dreams fulfilled but you should be terrified.
So the final villain is a Kaiju?! Very Toriyama like. Also makes sense given the fact that the experiment was overloaded with energy so this “Worst Existence” was meant to be something else entirely. Frankenstein vibes here.

Happy piccolo/Goku day!! something cool about piccolo! The idea of piccolo and kami splitting came from JTTW! Wu Kong had to separate himself from his evil past before he could become a Buddha. That’s why piccolo has some traits of the 6 eared macaque (amazing hearing,evil etc.)
The End of Z is important to Toriyama because Uub is a representation of Buddha who ultimately was Wu Kong’s master. Buddhists believe nothing is born evil but kid buu absorbed a concentration of the evil of mankind through out his existence which was cleansed through kindness.

When Goku took pride as a Saiyan on namek he took pride as a Saiyan that was DIFFERENT than the rest. Meeting Broly made him see that the Saiyans weren’t all bad they were just used and corrupted and seeing Bardock save him Solidifies this idea boosting Goku’s Saiyan Pride again.
