So in the Big Hero 6 comics there's a character called Fred, who was revealed to be of Ainu descent...
And then when they made a movie based on the comic, they turned him into a generic white guy.
Well I guess I'll get back to posting stuff - here's some promotional art of the Sinnoh region with Mt Coronet, but upscaled!
Another Giratina art restoration! From a Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum quizbook exclusive to Japan.
Original scan on the left, finished result on the right.
While I work on upscaling more old Nintendo photos, here's a re-do of a restoration I did last year of some Arceus art from the Pokémon TGC!
I did this when I first started out restoring and upscaling art, but I wasn't satisfied with the result so I went back and improved it. https://t.co/m2YvzCwX5Y
Never really crossed my mind before, but I like the consistency of the white and grey panelling in Team Galactic's uniforms which crosses over into Arceus' design.
Cataloging was done so the Japanese could settle in Hokkaido & exploit the abundant local resources, resulting in the establishment of the Hokkaido Development Office, and deployment of millitary colonists.
There were though, many outspoken critics of the treatment of the Ainu.
The trailer of #LegendsArceus showed off some pretty neat books with ink paintings detailing Sinnoh's environment as well as flora and fauna. That section was based on the notebooks of Japanese explorers of Hokkaido, who extensively recorded Hokkaido with ink drawings.

And here's samples of upscales & cleanups I've done.
In order:
• "Aqua City" album cover upscale + cleanup
• Pokémon card art scan, upscale + cleanup
• Fury Bowser art low➔high res upscale & cleanup
• Palkia art - upscaled & vectorised from Japanese book
