Hard to pick just one... so here are 4 of mine, spanning 35 years of drawing and painting unicorns xxx
#FairyTaleTuesday
Another illustration from the @PoetLiggett new poetry collection Dumbarton road, this one for ‘Doomster hill’
I had never come across the Govan stones before I started researching for this and I was (and still am) completely captivated by them...
Inktober day 23. ‘Leak’
I have always liked this quote from William Soutar
“I bleed myself to be your drink:
Is not the blood of poets—ink?”
We aren’t related as far as I know, but he does look a little like my Dad here, because I leak too...
Inktober day 22. ‘Open’
I don’t have a quote or a line of poetry for this one. I will leave you to find your own today.
Thank you x
Today’s image from the wonderful newly published poetry collection Dumbarton road by @PoetLiggett
This one I made for his poem ‘Steel river’
Now Dumbarton Road by @PoetLiggett is out in the world I can share some of the work that came from my first and very fruitful collaboration with a poet.
Illustration for poetry is a wonderful new direction for me, a dance between words and images
This one is ‘Reincarnation’
@LouiseNorgate Sleep well. Hold on x
A day late as I didn’t have any time to spare at all yesterday...
Inktober day 13. ‘Roof’
This one is inspired by a favourite song by @emilygportman ‘The hinge of the year’ go listen, it’s brilliant.
In the tales of the Fianna, Diarmuid is slain by a boar that was once his childhood best friend Enda.
A friend who was brutally murdered by Diarmuid’s father and given life again as beast to be a revenge curse on the life of Diarmuid and one day violently end it
#mythologymonday
No new inktober today... I am getting precisely nowhere with today’s prompt, it. Happens sometimes...
So here is one from a couple of years ago and the hope that inspiration strikes again tomorrow.
Inktober 2018 ‘embrace’
