005. Apom Berkuah: Also known as Kue Serabi, it is a Peranakan variation of the appam. This airy pancake is often accompanied with a sweet banana sauce (Pengat Pisang), and has a blue swirl made possible with blue pea flower colouring - a signature of Peranakan (Nonya) kueh.
004. Putu Bambu: Rice cake steamed in cylindrical tubes - traditionally made of bamboo. It is filled with sweet palm sugar, and sprinkled over generously with grated coconut & sometimes with a dash of sugar.
A practice piece that felt so unsatisfactory that I would prefer not to post, just like the numerous other pieces before this. But recently, I have been telling myself not to be too hard about myself and even if my art sucks, learn from it and strive to improve a little next.
