Big moment 2. Danny channels the new abilities he's learned from the Book of the Iron Fist and fires himself fist-first into a train full of explosives and survives and it's awesome.
But you can see what I meant about Aja's art. Less detail. Developing his Hawkeye style.
When the Iron Fist Annual comes up and fills in more of Orson's backstory, we get several other encounters with the Lightning Lords or their descendants, and the name Xao begins to come up.
Xao is the man leading Hydra against Danny in this series.
I love when it's all connected.
This was another neat idea, and combined with the Randall empire stuff could have made Danny like a Marvel-Batman with secret tunnels and elevators all over the city. But, alas, it never comes up again.
I went looking for original art for this series, but couldn't find any. This page would be a killer to own.
At this point, I could make quite a list of cool villains who were never seen again.
Ricadonna, Junzo Muto, Sai, Deathsting... I'm just gonna imagine they're all hanging out in prison together forming a league of forgotten villains.
This book is so unashamedly horny, which should not surprise anyone familiar with Palmiotti and Gray.
Khari Evans art with Palmiotti's inks and Strain's colors is so good throughout the series.
Based on this cover alone you'd think this was the comic book equivalent of Magic Mike.
This series is also notable for giving Iron Fist his own terrible "toad struck by lightning" moment.
