And a killer epilogue, continuing the trend of great cliffhangers.

Blade and Spitfire are my OTP now. They would've been when this book came out but I don't think anyone used the term OTP back then.

Followed immediately by one of the best Captain Britain moments ever.

This is a good one too, though.

So Maureen died at the end of Wisdom's mini, Tink is in Otherworld, John died fighting the Skrulls, and now Captain Midlands leads MI-13 into a trap in exchange for a fantasy version of his dead wife.
Cornell created a fun team in one book and then destroyed them in the next.

Plokta tempts Brian with his missing wife, Meggan. Brian is confident he can go through the door into the other dimension, save her, and still find a way home.
Their love is one of the anchors of this book. It is written with so much sincerity.
