It was a season of decay. Lands were arid & traversing the spirit forest to uncover proper harvesting dirt was costly with the winter eclipse nearing, for it revealed whispered lies & pandering beasts. 401

My life is
a singing whisper
in mountain mist,
trailing winter
into spring love
with forgiveness
for fall's death,
eyes glazed
with years' shadows
but lacquered
in blessings,
a paracosm
to cool
too hot air
in reality's
dings.

Time seems among near & distant thieves in those moments—an elephant of loneliness' delirium—but time itself can be an enjoyed miracle within the fog, like peace in knowing Rudolph's nose is lighting the way. 5

Wish I could write to you
of radio rivers
that sing
the blues,
that truth can live
in its static
after one is due,
of hurts pushed away
when you add
cinnamon & cream,
of goodbyes
in lemonade perfume
& all in between.
Yours,
Future Oddly Cute Girlfriend.

In the observatory,
quarter past ten,
zooming away
from hell,
viewing glistening wishes.

Harlequin stare,
silent yet colourful,
silkens secrets
once jagged
in empty room's dust,
we strangers
scribe
the same
mulberry whispers
on swallowed dreams,
soulful murals
unlike broken faith
locked in chaos,
misplaced
nowhere
each wintertide.

Stalwart & valiant. She arrived during first snow when millions perished, leaving the rest in despair. Her axe was large & menacing yet no chop killed. It embedded an elixir. An imaginary heroine to outsiders but to us a living legend. Her heart? Mine.

Light fell,
hidden
feelings,
a void,
all things
inexpressible,
open loss
somewhere accepted,
I stop,
see a face
of knowledge.

Stones came tumbling
in midnight rain,
amethyst reflecting
like dew
on windowpanes,
gusts aflutter
like falcons
in flight,
dancing
with my curtains,
drafts plenty
in sight,
so I curled up
in a plush comforter
& listened
to winter's sigh.
