Last week, I spent the weekend chilling with my nerd posse, and it caused me to realize I'd gotten tunnel vision on efficiency and practicality. My work had lost its spirit, its sense of just doing awesome fun stuff for the sake of it.

The problem? The round of editing that pushed its production from 1 month to 3 months improved the quality immensely. And this was my 3rd attempt to produce this story, which meant many of the images had had prior drafts, and that *also* improved the quality immensely.

This is me rubber ducking, with Twitter as the duck.

So way back, more than a year ago, when I released my second Jump the Shark, book, I hit a problem.

Namely, I want to crank out cheap, fun, unpretentious entertainment for the masses.

This book was a test of that goal.
