The first Elder's backstory is expanded and developed into something much more genuinely romantic in the original anime too. I actually feel how in love this couple is here! (doesn't excuse imposing his dumb tradition tho!)

Some of my favorite additions in the original episode is the sequence where Kurama decides to just not give a shit about getting married anymore and lazes about instead. Just some great personality in her expressions and posing here!

We knew Kurama was coming since they revealed “Sealed with a Kiss” would be adapted in an earlier trailer, but I don’t think anyone expected it so early, as she first debuted in episode 9 of the original anime and this particular story was done as episode 48!

Attention Darlings! Here’s some highlights from the new Urusei Yatsura episode!

In addition to adapting chapters 22 & 30, the episode also adapted the first 7 pages of chapter 25, “Love and Suffering!,” namely the scene where Ataru confronts Shinobu about her feelings for Mendo!

Attention Darlings! Due to ⚾️-related delays in the japanese broadcast, the new Urusei Yatsura ep will be up on @HIDIVEofficial 2 hours later than planned, at 2:30pm CT!

The new ep will adapt chapters 22 "Trouble Rains Down" & 30 "Amazed in a Maze," featuring the debut of Mendo!

Kotatsu-Neko's unremarked upon debut in this episode was surprising. His intro chapter was not listed among the stories being adapted in the first cour revealed in a recent promo, so his debut in this episode suggests that he's being treated as part of the cast from the get-go!🙀

We know Mendo will be added to stories that took place before his debut and that there will be a lot of focus on him and his family in this cour thanks to adapting his story meeting Kurama, Ryoko’s debut, and the parents day chapter! Guess the reboot just really loves Mendo! 💴🤍

Chapter 4 was originally adapted as episode 5a, “Sakura - Raving Beauty of Mystery” and chapter 15 was adapted as episode 7a “Electric Shocks Scare Me” in the original anime.
