Adora, Scorpia and Entrapta had disappeared from Catra's life for various reasons, but Double Trouble was never really there for her in the first place.

When DT came back to the Fright Zone, Catra tried to cover up her surprise or any show of actually caring (= being vulnerable).
"You came back! ...I mean, where were you? I thought..." "You thought I left you?" As if DT knew that Catra had issues about being left behind.

Catra thanking DT for saving her in S4E4. DT telling her that they live to serve - "For a price, of course." Catra is taken aback and goes from open & appreciative to closed up and gloomy. DT did not save her because they care, but because they get paid.

Catra clears her throat and gets serious. Maybe she had expected DT to say "Your laughter" or something - that DT cared about cheering her up?

When DT first met Catra they said "I'm about to become your new best friend". She may have taken this wording too seriously, thinking DT would truly become her friend, even though they were honest about needing to be paid for their services.
