The first times Adora transformed, she was startled. She-Ra was expressionless and going through the motions like an automaton. She did not even recognize Glimmer or Bow. Afterwards Adora was disoriented, fell to her knees, and her vision blurred.

Took me 3 re-watches to notice that between Fright Zone & Bright Moon, Scorpia had removed her Force Captain badge. The only thing she could do to signify having left the Horde, trying to blend in...

Bonus

Double Trouble takes their transformation to the next level. Not only do they look & sound like Catra, they are as agile too!
Adora thinks this is the 1st time she sees Catra since the portal. "Catra" immediately attacks her with fury. And Adora responds to this by... Flirting.

Adora is so OBVIOUS with her OBSESSION in season 2, crediting Catra for Horde not needing to deploy soldiers (!) when the Rebellion fights the bots, and even for Horde's self-destructing new bots (!). Bow looks a bit worried for her 😉

This isn't Glimmer or Bow; it's Shadow Weaver's spies & illusions she sent after Adora to gaslight her in Mystacor. SW is VERY aware of Adora's self-worth issues & feeling overly responsible. SW used her friends' images to blame her of all that goes wrong (much like Catra in S3).
