I don’t need to go over the whole history of the Eternals, but I do like this explanation that the Flood was caused when the Celestials tried to wipe out the Deviants, and the remaining humans were saved by the Eternals on a giant ark! #marvel#eternals
As the new ruler of the Eternals, Thena now has access to the Prism of Knowledge, which contains a recorded message from Zuras. Unfortunately she throws it away before hearing “a dreadful secret…that could spell doom” for everyone on Earth! #marvel#eternals
We catch up with a few Eternals and find out what they’ve been up to: Sersi is dating Holden and partying in Paris; Thena is the new ruler of the Eternals after the death of Zuras; and Ikaris is wrestling as “Iceberg” Harris, and his opponent is a Deviant! #marvel#eternals
My problem with the original Eternals series by Kirby is that it didn’t have a context within the Marvel universe as a whole. It ignored other superheroes and had global events not referenced in other comics. Let’s see how (or if) this series addresses that. #marvel#eternals
It seems like this entire storyline was just an excuse for John Byrne to draw a period piece in 1936, without bothering with a plot that actually makes any sense. And then the whole stupid story ends with “It was just a dream!” What a waste of time. #marvel#ff
The time-travel explanation is even more ridiculous than anything you could imagine: It involves a man who was run down by a car in 1936 and is in a coma, but he’s also a mutant whose dreams can shape reality…. Ah, you can read it for yourself. Or don’t. #marvel#ff
“Well…wasn’t it Mark Twain who said ‘Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated’?” They just used this line five issues ago!!! That’s it! No more! I’m declaring a moratorium on saying “Reports of my death…” when a major character returns! #marvel#ff
Trapped in 1936, the other members of the Fantastic Four are worried about accidentally altering history. I guess Nick Fury isn’t that worried, since he’s trying to kill Hitler! #marvel#ff
