22/100: 'Alone'
Originally, I had intended the robot to be wandering through the maze. Placing it in the centre, looking out at the viewer changed the feel completely.
16/100: 'Totem'
The Transmissions series features several robots hanging out in subterranean settings. This was the first.
15/100: 'Echoes'
Late in 2015, I beagn thinking about making a second book of robot art. This was painted as a possible cover image, with 'Echoes' also serving as the working title of the book. The series was still unnamed at that point.
7/100: 'Hollow'
The first image since identifying that the robots seemed to inhabit a common world. I had to decide what to do with that knowledge. I chose not to think about it too much. It had shaped itself unconsciously up to that point, so why interfere with the process?
4/100: 'Silent Oracle'
This was painted towards the end of 2008 and was the sixth robot-themed image I created. The first was almost three years earlier, and lots other work was generated in between. At this point, I had still not noticed a link between the robot pieces.
'Smothering Starfish' for the new @PlayHearthstone expansion, Sunken City.
Some artists wait their entire career for that exciting 'echinoderm clinging to face' brief. Only the luckiest of us get to ride that train a second time. What a rush.
@MothmanJim @Brucedraws @Marcel_Hampel Blue images eh? I'm game! Tagging @ArtByEmilyHare @LiamRSharp @AlyFell
I dropped a pile of @PlayHearthstone prints off at the post office today. If you ordered one of the print bundles, your loot is on the way!
