I know some of yall don't get Spring til like April or May, but Louisiana starts to green out in February, and I wanted to share some #springvibes with yall!
#clover and #violets make a cozy hiding spot for this girl and her pet mouse.
An older #watercolorillustration but a favorite. A Messenger with her #rabbit.
A little something different for today! While I love story focused illustration, I also really enjoy botanical painting. I sketched this #magnolia while dealing with the sudden death of a close family member, and being able to work on it and kinda detach helped me stay sane.
#SkillNotTalent 2009 vs 2022. It takes me at least twice as long to learn how to draw things as other artists, and I definitely did not have any natural talent in my bones (but I do have arthritis), so whatever I can do, has been extremely hard won and has taken a long time.

Volume 1 of 7" Kara is set in Hahnville, Louisiana. We meet tiny Lilliputian Kara, a sheltered girl who uncovers a long kept family secret, and sets out to discover the truth. She meets Naomi, a lonely teenage girl and Pancake, her rambunctious kitten.
I just scanned a bunch, so Why Not. https://t.co/6yLiaYOT3G
Markers are kind of an indulgence for me these days, but I love when I get to break em out and color something cute!
I owe it all to blue tape.
I mean that. @3m Crepe backed Blue painter's tape, 1.5", is what I rely on for stretching my #watercolor comics and illustrations. So for the How I Make 7" Kara section of Volume 2, I had to draw Kara with the famous blue tape.
