16-year-old Rose Byers has just released her first single called 'The Lament of Anne Boleyn'. It's beautifully sung and very moving. Do have a listen!

Absolutely exquisite portrait of a young girl aged 3 (or in her 4th year), painted by an unknown artist in 1595. The sitter’s sumptuous gown is decorated with evergreen foliage including ivy, a symbol of fidelity & eternal life. Her stunning collar is adorned with Tudor roses.
Another masterpiece by Giovanni Battista Moroni! This is thought to be the earliest of Moroni’s independent portraits of women, of which there are around 15. The sitter is probably the Bergamasque noblewoman and poet Isotta Brembati.

Another impressive portrait! Frances, Lady Reynell, of West Ogwell, Devon, c. 1595 by Robert Peake the Elder.

Portrait of a Lady, ca. 1527-1537, by Pieter de Kempeneer (aka Pedro Campaña). I love the detailed landscape in the background and the sitter’s wonderful earrings!

There’s so much to look at in this wonderful portrait of Charles d'Arenberg & Anne de Croy with their family, painted in c. 1593. The artist, Frans Pourbus the Younger, also included himself in the portrait. [© KIK-IRPA, Brussels (Belgium), cliché KN1017]
Here are some wonderful chalk drawings of members of the French nobility by Jean Clouet's son, Francois: Jacques de Savoie, Duc de Nemours; Melchior des Prez, Seigneur de Montpezat; Anne de Piennes; & Marguerite de la Marck, Comtesse d'Arenberg.
