I've now recorded all episodes of #TalkingTudors for March and April, which means that I can now turn my attention to #AllThingsBoleyn! Looking forward to chatting to these amazing speakers. https://t.co/CVz5IMKQ6m
Huge thank you to @VanesaRegaladoV for bringing this lovely portrait of Katherine of Aragon’s mother, Isabella I of Castile, to my attention. It's currently housed at ‘The Museo Casa de los Tiros’ in Granada, Spain, and, according to the museum’s website, dates from the 16thC.
Another gift from the Thames! @LondonMudlark found this beautiful Tudor lace end or aglet a few years ago while mudlarking. You can see how they were worn in the 16thC in these portraits. Hear about some other fab finds in the latest Ep. of #TalkingTudors. https://t.co/lzXGGuyknB
At the time that Henry VIII was trying to dissolve his marriage to his first wife, Katherine’s nieces were married to some of the most powerful men in Europe. Apart from Catherine, Queen of Portugal, there was Eleanor, queen consort of France, and Isabella, Holy Roman Empress.
I'm thrilled to share that new #TalkingTudors patrons, who pledge $5 or more, will now receive one or more scans of artist Anthony Hillman's pencil drawings, based on a number of portraits by Hans Holbein. They're stunning! Print, frame and enjoy! https://t.co/k4ASJmMJUR

This amazingly lifelike portrait of Thomas Gresham, painted in c. 1560-1565, is one of my favourite paintings by the Netherlandish artist Anthonis Mor. It is on display at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, alongside Mor’s painting of Gresham’s wife, Anne Fernely. [Public domain]
A little something coming to On the Tudor Trail in 2019... Watch this space for details! #Tudorwinetime (Banner by the super-talented @kathrynholeman)
Here's a little sneak peek at one of the illustrations from the second book in the Colouring History series - 'Colouring History: Tudor Queens and Consorts'. This one has been partly coloured by the talented @kathrynholeman. https://t.co/KVv0BamrMK
I absolutely love how Sian has coloured in Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn's entwined initials! Keep your #colouringtudorhistory pics coming!
