idk if i agree with shadows overall characterisation yet, i’m just gonna wait until i reread some more bc its actually been a while

second, there’s a really clever scene where rouge delivers an anonymous tip to the chaotix on eggman’s whereabouts and (knowing the nature of both sonic and shadow) uses the chaotix to conduct a thorough investigation for her while using the two hedgehogs as lawyer + prosecutor.

first things first, i fucking love this bc blaze’s reaction to sonic forces means everything to me

its interesting how she was only summoned into sonics world by the sol emeralds AFTER the war and not before it only bc of neo metal’s upcoming invasion. better late than never ig?

and we know that the echidnas used special rings to hide the super emeralds from s3&k and chaos rings from knuckles’ chaotix

and apparently all 6 chaos rings can create a portal to the master emerald (much like the super rings which teleport you to hidden palace zone)

but i think the reason he was sucked into the phantom ruby is bc he used too much of its power. not only did he push the stone to its limits but he also pushed HIMSELF to his limits and refused to fight without it.

think about it. he lost his squad who were probably like a family to him and then shadow beats him up and calls him weak and pathetic. infinite was just trying to avenge them and he knew he failed, he just… didn’t want to accept it. so he spirals into a meltdown / tantrum.
