I was so sad to hear that our lovely model, Gena, has passed on.
It was a delight and a great pleasure to work with Gena in my portraiture workshops at Artform in Dunmore East.

I found a photo I took of that painting of my daughter, Evie, before it was framed.

Ellen going through the ice in ‘The Haunted Lake’ at an early stage of the watercolour process. Then the finished illustration and a detail of Lilith under the ice. Adults sometimes miss her.

Here’s one of the pictures from ‘The Haunted Lake’ at an early stage when the paint was loose and lively. I’m always trying to hang on to that rough quality as I add more definition, but sadly it often gets lost.
