I’m still developing ideas for The Mermaid’s Quest story I’m putting together, but I’m realizing it’s too good a tale to try to condense down to novella length. But that means my original plan to get it cranked out by May won’t work, UNLESS-⬇️

Thinking more about the background of the characters in The Mermaid’s Quest, I believe part of the reason Nimue must pass the Test of Courage is b/c Arthur already has. When he was 14. He braved the trials of the Warren in order to obtain a cure for a disease she had.⬇️

One thing I have decided about #Merfolk in my story setting is they are VERY fond of jewelry. There are not many fabrics that can resist degradation in sea water, so jewelry is the best alternative to clothes. Jewelry custom made for their bodies is highly prized.

So, for The Mermaid's Quest, I'm toying around w/ the idea of a Merman rival for Nimue, though she has ZERO interest in him. He's the quintessential "nice guy" who believes his "kindness" makes him entitled to her affection. He's also her (unwanted) White Knight.🔽

The 1st image could easily be how Nimue meets Arthur. The 2nd could easily be them spending time together. The Mermaid’s Quest is going to have plenty of moments like these. Granted, it’s going to start with quite a bang. Deep Ones are JERKS.
