For a drawing class I redrew Tanjiro to show my students a few simple steps of creating a character: simple shapes to set proportions, details, and final cleanup. I usually draw at least 3 layers but 2 is enough if the sketch is clear.

Shutter shades started in the 50s. The 80s models are bit more recognizable to us but it’s Alain Mikli’s design, popularized by Kanye West, that we know. The guy has Mikli’s design.

Based on the images I found, floral and figurative patterns seemed popular in the 70s, while geometric patterns with bright colours seemed more popular in the 80s.
