Bottom line is, I'm a bit sick of games these days prioritising "realism" above all else, going so far as to try to simulate hunting and whatever in ancient eras. I wanna be more direct. That's why I like 'MALICIOUS Fallen' so much; I can fly right into a giant's face.
There have been quite a few games as of late about survival, foraging for resources and gear, and taking down colossal foes with stealth and subterfuge.
Personally, I'd like more games where we face these things more head-on. Or, better yet, play as one of the beasts.
Why are there approximately nine million military shooters and barely any games where you play as a dragon? When the best dragon game is 'Spyro', a 3D collect-a-thon platformer, we have to ask: what have we been doing these last twenty years?
I read 'The BFG' years ago. One part stuck to me: the girl and BFG use the BFG's bottled dreams to warn the queen about the giants eating children, only the BFG makes a dream that's dark and stormy. The girl asks for a nice, soft dream but the BFG says it's the harsh reality.
You have the standard soldier dude, a health-centric alien plant in a robot pot, a ONE PUNCH power loader lady, a space wizard, and more. Their core controls differ, so they're all affected by the items in different ways. The characters never get stale as they're always changing.
