At the end of Digimon Adventure 02 we have Belial Vamdemon threatening to unify the Real and Digital Worlds with the power of darkness, converting them as a "World of Darkness". It is clear that "World of Darkness" does not refer only to a single world, but to a type of world.

Then there was an invasion of Demon and his Dark Digimon, Digimon that came from darkness, from the World of Darkness. Demon was only defeated by being sent to the Dagomon's Ocean, back to the World of Darkness.
