I find it particularly interesting that after leaving the Digimon Kaiser identity, Ken became a partner to a literal Digimon Kaiser. It's the kind of background element that I would love to see being explored, but sadly Imperialdramon was very underused in Adventure 02. https://t.co/4bruha4CRo
Although the "Digimon Encyclopedia" gives a lot of the official settings for various Digimon, there are still a lot of the settings that are not present on them that I find very interesting. Imperialdramon is an interesting case as it lacks some information about it.
Although both Digimon World and Digimon Adventure take place in "File Island" and had an overlapping development, it's very clear they have very different looks, so let's see an interview where this difference is discussed.
The biggest win with the Digimon Journal pages is that finally, we can have the official artworks in high-definition, even with some alternate artworks that were used in cards and other material. Still said it's not "all of them", but a good start.
However, not only are the series now consistently named, but the games themselves are also very consistent from one to the other (With the exception of the original Next 0rder), with basically every game produced since Re:Digitize being a consequence of the last one.
However, since the release of "Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth" the localization decided to fix that and now the series "Digimon Story" and "Digimon World" are properly separated, just took 10 years since the Japanese side already started being more consistent.
It has been more than 15 years since Digimon stopped the "you don't know what the game is even with their names", at least in Japan. In the west, the games were still getting named "Digimon World", even though the Japanese side stopped doing this type of connection.
This is just one of the many reasons why the Digimon series is known as being inconsistent (Other reasons include the various animes with different stories). The general idea is that Digimon has no idea of what it wants to be and no one knows what to expect from the next game
A lot of them got Digimon made on their costumes, so it's an interesting read to who they were and what they did at the time.
I find it particularly interesting how they have to also mention SGSS only in Magnamon's figure toylines, while it mentions the fight with Kimeramon, it mentions a move it never used there.
