In May 1918 he had an exhibit of his war work in Agnew’s. Orpen, connected, was able to have his work bypass the censor. In a typical example of his generosity he gave all his work to the UK & it is now in the War Museum. La Boiselle (1917), Thiepval (1917) & Mine Crater (1917)

Thread: I don’t write about illustrators too much, but want to bring you the Norwegian Theodor Kittelsen (1857-1914), who died on this day. I love how he created images of Norwegian mythology & tales that are as attractive today as when they were created. Watch out for trolls!
