Exotic Bloom (2020)

For the next 6 years he was in London, Paris & the US. In the latter he lectured cowboys on the aesthetics of Corot (Wilde’s favourite artist). He published Poems (1881) which was well received. It’s fair to say he loved to play to an audience.

Pictured is Pierrot (1718), Festival of Love (1718) & Italian Comedians (1720)

Pierrot (1718-20) is his most famous work & shows his interest in strolling players. The sweetness of the work is undercut by the lovelorn expression of the main actor. Also from this time are Peaceful Love & Party in the Open Air. Pure rococo!
