Game 65 for the thread is The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

Very unexpected, but equally charming visual novel. And to sweeten the deal, it's free.

The music and art are top-notch, and perfectly complement the Sonic characters interacting under the premise of a murder mystery.

There's an old promo Flash game for Ocarina of Time that has you go through the Lost Woods. And when you manage to get to the end, it tells you to memorize the path so you can do it in the real game.

I think that's real neat.

A new rule I've made up for this list is that I cannot include web browser games that I can breeze through in like 5 minutes or less.

That said, Game 42 for the thread is the original Territory War

I literally haven't played this one since I was a kid. Brings back memories.

Games 40 and 41 for the thread are Chex Quest 2 and 3

A solid little trilogy all around. I particularly liked the different kinds of level themes 2 had to offer.

3 was more demanding than I expected, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Game 39 for the thread is Chex Quest

I actually played this via Chex Quest 3, which definitely made for a smoother experience than if I were playing the original DOS version.

I rarely ever play FPS games, but I dig the offbeat nature and creative liberties Chex Quest runs with.

Game 38 for the thread is The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. For mobile, of course!

Like the first LoS mobile, it is a slow platformer consisting of linear mazes for levels. The graphics do their best to carry the entire game, but they don't make things less boring.

Game 37 for the thread is Assassin's Creed II...for mobile!

Platforming annoyances aside, there's a nice chunk of spectacle and action in this little conversion.

The graphics are lush, and there's enough variety in the gameplay to keep things engaging.

Had a curious watch of Sony's State of Play.

Of course, the indie games were the highlights. Very much liked the looks of Tchia, Humanity, Goodbye Volcano High, and Before Your Eyes...which I'm realizing came out in 2021 on PC.

Wonder if these will be on Switch anytime soon?

Game 20 for the thread is Mega Man 5 for NES.

It's not peak Mega Man, but I tend to come back to it every so often because of its relatively easygoing nature.

Game 17 for the thread is Rayman Legends

It's been almost 10 years since I got this game, and it hasn't aged a day! A genuine masterpiece words can't do justice, probably even moreso than its predecessor.
