Played through Sonic Mania to wash the Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond taste out of my mouth.
I was in a DOS mood, so I played through a pair of Mega Man DOS games
They're not very good (especially compared to the NES hits), but they always fascinate me
I respect the ambition behind making Mega Man work on hardware devs only just figured out how to do side-scrolling on
Played through The Three Stooges for GBA
This is a port of an Amiga game, and feels distractingly out of place from other games on GBA. After about 10 minutes of the same few minigames, I already got one of the endings.
At least the callbacks to Stooges films were a nice touch.
Tonight was an Aladdin for SNES kind of night.
I've always preferred the acrobatics-style platforming and straightforward levels of this game compared to the Genesis's more maze-like designs and swordplay.
Capcom's Aladdin is just solid, clean fun.
Played through Yoshi's Safari
It's a cute (and weird) little historical curiosity. The emulator I used to play this on Wii makes the game feel naturally suited to the pointer controls
I kinda wonder if I trivialized the challenge that way, though. My time was too smooth sailing
Played through Ninjabread Man
I swear, I didn't have so much trouble fighting enemies in the other Data Design games. And the combat was super shoddy in them to begin with.
Thankfully, this game was very short. A measly four levels, including the copy-pasted training one.
Just beaten Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland
I've already been familiar with Data Design's horrific platformers through Rock'n Roll Adventures, but I found the primitive aesthetic and short runtime made it at least a bit of a guilty pleasure.
This, though...? I dunno...
After many a session and some long hours, I've beaten Pac-Attack (the puzzle mode that is)
Of Pac-Man's SNES titles, this is one of the better ones. I think Tetris and Puyo Puyo have it beat on the strategy/fun balance, but Pac-Attack still does a good job letting the time fly.
Y'know, I wanted to say I beat M&Ms Adventure
But apparently 100%ing is required to beat it. I only got 91 of the 120 collectibles. I didn't get the rest because I thought beating the final level (as all 3 characters no less) was enough
Sigh. I guess not.
I'm dropping this one.
Here's some more Flash PaRappa for your feed
See that teeny weeny "Game" icon?
Here's what it looks like close up!
