@chamomeriam This is from the rough draft of book 2, my current WIP. It's also a moment that was illustrated by @_o8cho.
@justin_author Yes. Originally, all fairies were just little humans with wings. I wanted a bit more distinction. I decided that when they get their magic, it transforms them slightly. Which meant that Yaetherim, as a florakind, went from the first image to the second. (Art by @NickOnRipple.)
@NatalieKelda @pamonyaart Thanks :). These tattoos are cultural, too. They're called terax marks and show social status, profession, rank and achievements. Karis has a lot, as she's caught quite a few criminals during her career as a town guard. Tenora's marks are a bit shorter.

@melaniebacallao Oblivious lovers. Everyone can see they're in love with each other, except them. I've used it for both couples amongst my core cast.
In fact, it's noticing the other couple that prompts each couple's own realisation.

@Crazy_Crash08 My Rychillan characters wear short (1" long) sleeved or sleeveless tops, usually in a steampunk-esque style. This is partially due to the humidity & heat, and partly due to the practice of tattooing terax marks (social status indicators) along the arms.

@CelestialL0tus Most of my six core characters are LGBT. Firstly, there's Tenora (blue hair) and Karis. Tenora is a lesbian, and Karis a demisexual. They're going to end up together, after Tenora helps Karis come to terms with some of her past.

@GabriellaBuba I usually commission when I'm trying to figure out a new character or look. I'd recommend @pamonyaart, @_o8cho, @KaiArtx and @NickOnRipple. They're good to work with. Below is Yaetherim in each of their styles.
@vivissiah Rychillan clothing is usually light and sleeveless. The former due to the subtropical climate, and the latter due to the tattooed marks along the arms. These indicate social status, profession, and other achievements. Covering them is considered dishonest.

@asrs_williams Rychillan fashion is 'short sleeved steampunk'. They have tattooed marks along their arms (terax marks) that indicate profession, rank, social class & noteworthy achievements, and don't want to cover these up.
It's also a humid subtropical climate.

@LaraRouseWrites **Spoiler**
Charlys is a nokind fairy - no natural element. She will discover she does have a natural element, a previously unknown one.
When she's first exposed to this element's magic, her eyes change from hazel to rust-brown, along with other changes.
