@KRSWriting I don't have moodboards, but here are the MCs from book 1. It's a fantasy whodunnit. Yaetherim is a fairy searching for the Rychillans who attacked him and left him for dead. Tenora is a Rychillan Arch-Mechanic investigating why engines are malfunctioning.

@justin_author Yes. Originally, all fairies were just little humans with wings. I wanted a bit more distinction. I decided that when they get their magic, it transforms them slightly. Which meant that Yaetherim, as a florakind, went from the first image to the second. (Art by @NickOnRipple.)

@RebeccaFKenney1 Here's a moment from my WIP, with Tenora (blue hair) explaining to Karis why steam engines have been malfunctioning recently.

@NatalieKelda @pamonyaart Thanks :). These tattoos are cultural, too. They're called terax marks and show social status, profession, rank and achievements. Karis has a lot, as she's caught quite a few criminals during her career as a town guard. Tenora's marks are a bit shorter.

@NatalieKelda I've had art done of my 6 core characters. These are the three who feature in the first book - Yaetherim (fairy) Tenora (blue hair) and Karis.

Having the art does help with consistency and clarity when writing. E.g. the location of Yaetherim's scars.

@EdenSolera Most of them. Rychillans use steam engines, driven by fire and water magic. From this, they've developed road vehicles, ships and airships.

Fairies usually fly around. Rychillan vehicles have handles built onto them to allow fairies to hitch a ride.

@melaniebacallao Oblivious lovers. Everyone can see they're in love with each other, except them. I've used it for both couples amongst my core cast.

In fact, it's noticing the other couple that prompts each couple's own realisation.

@Crazy_Crash08 My Rychillan characters wear short (1" long) sleeved or sleeveless tops, usually in a steampunk-esque style. This is partially due to the humidity & heat, and partly due to the practice of tattooing terax marks (social status indicators) along the arms.

@LiteraryKfox Naeliya was originally meant to be Yaetherim's love interest. But when I tried to write that, it didn't seem right. So I created Charlys to act as Yaetherim's LI.
