Mam was very flustered and anxious when she came to fetch them. But she found them sitting happily by the O’Riley’s kitchen fire.

Christmas was coming but times were bad and there was no money to spare. Mam was working long hours and she had shopping to do.

Bronwen and Dylan hear a strange ‘plonk, plonk’ and bolt out onto the street, and run into their neighbour Mrs O’Riley.

Dave cried and cried. He felt so sad that Dogger, his dear friend, had been forgotten and left out of all the Christmas fun.

No matter how hard they all searched, Dogger seemed to have disappeared.

Dave and Bella were very busy making lists of all the fancy stuff they were hoping to get as presents. Mum took Dave and Bella Christmas shopping.
Dave left Dogger propped up on the windowsill, waiting for them to come back. They were gone a very long time.
