One of my favourite categories in #WikiCommons 'cause it shows #sciart of four of my favourite artists - Nina Jones, Matilda Smith, Martha King and @EmilyHarrisNZ. All are painting the same species of NZ plant. We're just missing Sarah Featon! https://t.co/IhfFQqKjqJ
Of course this results in me trawling the @BioDivLibrary Flickr feed for cockroach images - https://t.co/VSVqr8d0Ls and https://t.co/GOv77RBGri (this one has been wonderfully taxotagged by @silverlakeshore!)
Awake in the middle of the night. Doing exactly the wrong thing to encourage my brain to go back to sleep. *sigh*

Looks like there will be 183 digital surrogates of paintings making their way to WikiCommons. The difference in numbers is because US copyright lasts 70 years, while NZ copyright lasts 50 years. The "no known copyright restrictions" applies only to #reuse in NZ.
@Becs @HistSciArt @BioDivLibrary @Flickr Whenever you feel like a bit of beauty, just have a fossick through those albums. The art contained there is a wonder. So many beautiful things to look at!
@Becs @HistSciArt You do know about the @BioDivLibrary @Flickr feed, right? 'Cause it is a wonder. Albums of scientific illustrations all openly licensed for your delight and reuse! https://t.co/lKBbYPM5u3
I've just started looking at the @ccglobalsummit schedule. It is ACTION PACKED. But HOW am I going to attend all the sessions I want to when the @tdwg conference is on the same week? Plus I'm in New Zealand. I have to face the fact there will be no sleep that week.
Listening to the @EVNautilus crew talking about worms & started going on a research "deep dive" about arrow worms. Then started looking at species found in #NewZealand waters including Eukrohnia hamata. Then found this fabulous image via @BioDivLibrary https://t.co/14hfJG1N5G
During my research on Miriam Parker I've come across some public domain illustrations by her. So I've created a #WikiCommons category and creator page and have added the images to WikiCommons. https://t.co/kKx3tCPvZ1
