Sonic and Sally meet up again to pop the question to Sally's mother and father, that she would like Sonic to become her Royal Consort and someday have her hand in marriage.

Issue 123, "Heart Held Hostage"
Sonic defeats Nack's relatives and manages to find Sally after she was kidnapped by the weasel. The two reunite and proclaim their feelings for one another, leading to a kiss.

Issue 52, "The Discovery Zone"
We're introduced to Ms. Acorn of The Discovery Zone, who seems to turn heads the second she appears. She has a job for Sonic, who appears to be a little smitten with her.

/No Sonally moment in Issue 49, but felt the need to point this out because it's weird. Sonic's legs are cramping up and so he can't do his figure-eight move. So he decides to... take some dirt out of his shoe and use it as a landstrip, which he runs on. This doesn't make sense./

Sally soon runs off, and in the present is still steadfast in her belief that Sonic would never betray the Freedom Fighters. #SonicTheHedgehog #SallyAcorn #Sonally

Sally is taken aback as she hadn't been informed of King Acorn's oddly quick recovery. Before she can say much else, he mentions a traitor in their midst, and that it's Sonic! Sally can only mutter a quiet no to the outrageous accusation.

Issue 24, "When Hedgehogs Collide"
In the Reverse Universe, Anti-Sonic declares angrily how bored he is. On the desk are several hearts etched into the wood, and inside of them are names. One reads "Sonic + Sally" #SonicTheHedgehog #sallyacorn #Sonally

It doesn't work thanks to Harvey Who. He gets his first appearance as the Head of The Freedom Fighter Secret Intelligence, and (much, much later, around 217 issues later) he would go on to form the Secret Freedom Fighters.
