In the Sonic Lost World game it is never made clear exactly where Amy and Knuckles are, the tie-in comic suggests that they are in Green Hill; considering the shape of the trees, it would seem that area is the Green Hill(s) from Sonic 2 8-bit.

Strangely enough, Sonic's challenge takes place on the Giant Wing, where aesthetically he looks like Wing Fortress, Aerobase and Sky Fortress, probably is just the Aerobase or Sky Fortress since Wing Fortress was destroyed in Sonic 2.
