All my snark and cynicism aside, the design of QUEEN GOBLIN is pretty neat! (Plus these additional covers)
At a Spider-Man pitch meeting:
“I’ve got a novel idea! How about a new Goblin story?”
A collection of new variant covers for Amazing Spider-Man #Beyond were released today and man... my wallet is going to hurt in January.
I think kids are more excited about joining in on a conversation and feeling genuinely included in a larger history, not having something focus group tested to appeal to them. Give them approachable connections to the Marvel universe. New heroes AND villains. Like Ms. Marvel!
I love @RB_Silva's Stormbreakers variant cover of Spider-Man and Mary Jane. Just stunning stuff!
I'll be happy for Spencer's run to end and potentially put OMD and Sins Past discussions to rest, if only to silence those people who only know how to talk about those two stories. I moved on years ago and have enjoyed so many Spider-Man comics. I wish we could talk about those.
Unless that's wrong. Gabriel isn't a clone of Harry, but maybe a clone of Norman. Who knows? And upon rereading the issue it remains unclear exactly whose DNA Gabriel is a result of. He's kind of left aside from this story, as Kindred occupies Sarah's body. It's weird.
The implication here seems to be that the plan changed after his death and the AI took over with a new plan. But initially the plan was just to have a cloned Gwen show up in Peter's life to remind him of his "sins".
But, then, why clone himself alongside her?
I can understand why he would do the robot parents thing, but I'm unclear as to why he would kick start the Sarah and Gabriel Stacy cloning enterprise, wherein a key element is gaslighting his father (who was assumed dead at the time) and the other is housing his soul.
