And that questioning can manifest itself in completely unique ways depending on the character. It can lead to introspection ("Is the world REALLY like I though it was?"), or temptation ("Could *I* be as perfect as her?"), or a bunch of different things unique to each character.

Reason 1 is simply because I love that Bayonetta energy and I wish more western comics would go for it. And who better for that than the Mistress of the Martial Arts?

But reason 2 is because I think it would add an extra dimension to her interaction with other characters.

This way, Shiva gets to hang out with people who she finds interesting (usually because they remind her of herself), and the other person has their entire worldview challenged by Shiva's mere existence while also functioning as a relatable PoV character for readers.

I thought something similar when I read the issue, but while Shiva is also curious of people and their intentions, she (at her best) doesn't try to manipulate or steer them. She just breaks whatever mental obstacles they have (Cass' guilt, Vic's binary mentality) and then...

For example, there was never a story where Lady Shiva said "You know what? Getting poisoned sucks. I should maybe do something to defend myself against it." Or one where she overcame her crippling weakness against people chucking stuff at her back.

The other point is that, as far as Shiva as a character is concerned, all those losses (fair or unfair), draws and training sequences don't count for anything. They didn't lead to any kind of character development for her whatsover, and in some cases, actively regressed her.

The most obvious point to make is that Shiva's rep as some invincible fighter who wins every battle she's in is a tremendously informed attribute, mostly used to hype other character up. That's not exactly news.
The other point is a bit more granular and a lot more bitter.

That means that, if we discount goons and Z-listers, Lady Shiva has lost (fairly or not) or drawn more fights than she's won.

Again, this is all violently subjective, and individual instances are very liable to argument, but the point(s) I'm staggering towards are simple.
