If everyone was a little bit autistic then being autistic would be the norm. We would be the typical neurotype, but we're not, because not everyone is a little bit autistic, so stop it!

I had the joy of arguing with an aspie supremacists online. It was like bashing my head into a brick wall. I really don't recommend it.

As difficult as it may be for a non-autistic person, to make sacrifices for an autistic spouse, it’s equally as difficult for the autistic spouse to do the same. My husband, and I had to work hard to understand each other.

The easiest way for me to show that I empathize with someone is to explain by using examples from my life. I feel like if I don't prove to you that I understand then I'll just be seen as shallow.

I'm so used to my husband being the only one who knows how to react when I'm overwhelmed, so when one of our friends saw me overwhelmed I was shocked when they simply saw me as a person who could use a hand instead of some freak.

Most autistic people prefer "autistic person" or identity first language. Would you call someone a blind person, or a person with blindness? A deaf person, or person with deafness? When you change it it just alienates us more.

I strive so hard to be either early, or on time, so when other people don't do the same I panic. It takes every ounce of willpower not to incessantly call, or text just to make sure they're okay, and that they're still coming.

A followup from my last comic. To stop my brain from wandering off to bad places I always have some sort of noise going on. Usually it's music, or YouTube videos. It's also how I get to sleep when my brain just refuses to stop.
