@RaptorX863 @Adasaur1 We ultimately decided to follow the look given to the Desmatochelys in the illustration - by Jorge Black- accompanying Cadena & Parham (2015). I also produced concept art where it had an entirely scale-covered carapace though. 3/3
Don Russell (Dale's brother) describes how the museum removed a panel so Dale could get a closer look. Dale bent over to examine an iguanodontian ankle, knocked the giant glass pane with his backside aaand down it came, exploding so loudly that people thought a bomb had gone off.

@Bonpland Ah of course, clever. In that case I wonder if the pose of Natopithecus is also a callback to the von Homboldt and Bonpland image. But maybe not.
