DEEN’s influence is crazy to think about because the Higurashi visual novel really doesn’t contain many crazy faces but “Higurashi Face” became so famous and associated with the brand that every 07th game after Higurashi is full of batshit expressions
Of course Ryu upstaged DEEN
Studio BONES was so fucking Galaxy brain for this
This is an COS!Fritz Lang stan account from now on
Honestly the 2003 FMA is such a good show for people who love Bad Women (me)
I like all of these characters is that a red flag or green flag what’s this say about me
@Krejzac A lot of the promo art gives off this energy, I wish they’d lean into it more often!
This is ENTIRELY based upon an aesthetic read of denpa im sure, because in my mind it’s heavily associated with the feelings of escaping reality altogether and the games that most stick out as denpa have a sort of unified aesthetic like this
@zoolpal Well, if you like Higurashi, then Umineko is good too! Iwaihime, also by Ryukishi07, is really fantastic as well.
Beyond that, I really loved You and Me and Her. It’s got a great premise and characters to back it up.
You can’t go wrong with sciADV games like Chaos;Child either
Whereas the 2003 anime is about learning to see the beauty in a world that is imperfect, chaotic and unknowable. It’s about championing empathy, compassion and justice in a world where those won’t always win. Tonal divergences in FMA are gateways to the series themes. (13/13)
The Brother’s childhood and the hunt for the Philosopher’s Stone are treated with grim severity in Brotherhood. In 2003, the transmutation is the denouement to the episode about their mother. In 2009, their mother is a prelude to the episode about the transmutation (7/?)
Oshima Michiru is my favorite anime composer, I think she’s just a genius 🥲
