@MarioBrothBlog The strongest example is Goomboss being in SM64 DS, you would never see a 3D game adapt a design from one of the RPGs nowadays, but there's more, I think one interesting thing is Mr. Blizzard's redesign seems to have been inspired by both Mario Kart 64 and Paper Mario.

if you want to know what I'm talkin about, here's their redesign from 64 DS, then the original game, then Galaxy 2. in sm64/galaxy he's just a recolored Bob Omb from that era, in 64 DS they removed the wind up key and gave him new shoes.
